Speakers' Corner welcomes you to the largest organisation devoted to communication excellence: Toastmasters International. At Speakers' Corner you will meet new people and make new friends. People join the club for various reasons - maybe you have to stand up and deliver a speech at a celebration in front of family and friends. Maybe your work or business requires communication and leadership skills. Our aim at Speakers' Corner is to assist members develop their communication and leadership skills in a supportive environment. As part of that development, our members embrace creativity and we strive to ensure that meetings are interesting and fun. Our first meeting was in March 2003, so we have some very experienced members to help you improve your public speaking skills. To prove this, in 2011 we achieved President Distinguished, which is the highest level a Toastmasters club can achieve in a year.
The mission of Speakers' Corner Toastmasters club is to provide an encouraging and helpful learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop leadership and communication skills which will foster self-confidence and personal growth. Speakers' Corner constantly strive to:

We have a meal break mid-meeting. The Fountain Inn serves excellent meals. Just tell them you're with Toastmasters when you order.
Meetings usually finish around 9:15pm.

Whether you are a professional, student, stay-at-home parent or retiree, Toastmasters is the most efficient, enjoyable and affordable way of gaining great communication skills. By learning to effectively formulate and express your ideas, you open an entirely new world of possibilities. You’ll be more persuasive and confident when giving presentations, and you’ll improve your one-on-one dealings with others.
Don’t worry! Everyone in a Toastmasters club was once at the level you are now. The environment is friendly and supportive, and the self-paced program allows you to build confidence with each speaking assignment. And you’ll love the applause! Constructive evaluation is the heart of the Toastmasters program. Each time you give a prepared speech, an evaluator will point out strengths and suggest improvements. At first you’ll be applauded for your effort; later you’ll be applauded for your skill.
Speakers' Corner Toastmasters meet on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of each month at 6.45pm, at The Fountain Inn, 142 Glen Osmond Road, Parkside.
